You are invited to our yearly Kiss & Tell holiday party and mix CD swap.

Headlining this year's festivities is Detroit's Marcellus Pittman. We were so impressed by Pittman's stunning eclectic set at The Bunker that we couldn't wait to invite him back for a special extended set at Kiss & Tell. He promises to get us in the festive holiday spirit with a soulful set of disco, Motown, house, and other fun Christmas classics. Like Santa, expect each rare treat that Pittman pulls out of his record bag to be spectacular.

Also along for our snowy sleigh ride are the Brothers Meier. We look forward to seeing what Ken and Karl will bring to our holiday party. Expect a set covering everything from disco to industrial, breaks to jack tracks and back.

Of course, our resident Bethany Benzur will warm up the night with a set of her classic disco treats and a few festive surprises.

Mix CD Swap: Please bring a CD (or two, or three) with a full tracklisting to exchange at the party. Decorate the jewel case if you are feeling creative and crafty. Go nuts with the packaging, music genres, and track selection. At the end of the night you will go home with a lovely mix (and maybe also a lovely date).

Dress Up: It is the most wonderful time of the year. Dress the part. Silver, red, green! Sparkles and tinsel-top tiaras. Ice queens and snow angels. Sultry santas and evil elves. Hate the holidays? Come head to toe in black, black ,black. We promise not to put coal in your stocking.

Don't forget to wear your dancing shoes!

Kiss & Tell Guest DJ:

Pittman's first co-productions with Theo Parrish came out on Sound Signature in 1999. He has also produced for Omar S's FXHE imprint, andis a member of the 3 Chairs collective, alongside Moodymann, Rick Wilhite, and Theo Parrish. Aside from these collaborations with the most respected house producers from Detroit, he has released solo material on his Unirhythm imprint. He keeps the rate of his output a bit lower than many artists, but the quality is sky high, and you'd be hard pressed to find a single record he's released that's not worth owning.

Kiss & Tell Guest DJ: Brothers Meier
Longtime electronic music enthusiasts, Ken & Karl Meier started dj'ing in the mid nineties, excited by the sounds of Chicago House and Detroit/UK Techno. Both cut their teeth at the legendary Gramaphone Records in Chicago, hosted shows as part of WNUR's "Streetbeat" programming, and were residents at "Influence" a weekly event at the now-defunct but much beloved Sonotheque. They've opened for the likes of Surgeon, Regis, Derrick Carter, John Roberts, Function, Anthony "Shake" Shakir, and many others, developing an all-inclusive aesthetic that encompasses all forms of forward thinking dance music, looking to the future, while being influenced by music of the past. Currently, they're involved with Fear Of Music, a multi-faceted endeavor that includes a mailing list, regular events at various venues in NYC and Chicago, and mixes/podcasts that are now available through iTunes. Karl's most recent musical project, "The Great Traitor" was released on Remnant Records this past year.

Kiss & Tell Resident DJ: Bethany Benzur is our beautiful disco encyclopedia and vinyl purist from Georgia. Ever since she emigrated to Brooklyn in 2007, Bethany has been ruling the dancefloor at Kiss & Tell parties with her Southern charm and excellent taste. Even the deepest crate digging record nerds are regularly awed by her rare records and can be seen trainspotting her selections. Each month she delights us with her mix of raunchy electro, glamorous dark disco, and soulful street funk. Bethany has recently been moonlighting at The Bunker party with some very memorable opening sets of space disco and house. Bethany recently played at the Kiss & Tell closing night festivities of Communikey Festival in Boulder, Colorado in April 2011, alongside Kiss & Tell favorite Mike Huckaby.
