Kiss & Tell: House Rules
Wednesday November 24, 2010 + 8pm - 2am FREE
Guest DJ: nd_baumecker, Eric Wrenn
K&T Resident DJ: Bethany Benzur
Hostess & Party Pics: Seze

For our special Thanksgiving Eve edition of Kiss & Tell, we are excited to have Panorama Bar resident DJ and booking mastermind nd_baumecker. ND is a new friend to the Bunker and Kiss & Tell family. We recently met him on stage after the Lustmord show in Berlin. A few days later had a chance to hear his new live set (as Baumecker and Barker) at the Osgut 5 year anniversary party at Berghain. nd_baumecker has a wide range or musical interests, which are evident in his diverse and super catchy sets, which are defined by (but never just limited to) House music. His debut set at the Bunker last Friday was so mind blowing that it literally caused a power outage! We are thrilled to hear him play a special set at Kiss & Tell with local Brooklyn favorites Eric Wrenn and Bethany Benzur.

We have also invited Eric Wrenn to play a sultry house and disco set. Kiss & Tell hostess Seze first met Eric Wrenn when he was a young lad having fun at The Bunker almost five years ago! Over the past two years, Eric Wrenn has made a name for himself with his special Dolphin Cruise parties where his previous guests have included Mike Servito from Ghostly International, Kim Ann Foxman from Hercules and Love Affair, Tyler Pope from LCD Soundsystem, and John Roberts from Dial Records.

This month we are playing with the party name "House Rules." Sure, you will hear some vintage dance music records from our special DJs. However, we also wanted poke fun at all the funny "house rules" of past and present parties.

A few Kiss & Tell House Rules:
- no bags or coats on the dancefloor
- no white sneakers no baggy jeans
- no smoking inside
- no wasting time in the bathrooms
- no fighting with your boyfriend
- no techno
- no bad "vibes"
- no whining
- no guestlist

Kiss & Tell, a monthly party at Rose Live Music in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, has been producing unique theme based events since 2007. Kiss & Tell DJs play italo, house, disco: classics and edits, electro, synth pop, girl groups, gothypants, coldwave, new wave, and other sexy dancefloor treats.

Dress Up (it's fun, but not required)
It is Thanksgiving so feel free to dress up like your favorite American Indian. Haunted Pocahontas.
Feathers, Feathers, Feathers! Prim and Proper Pilgrims.

Guest DJ: nd_baumecker is well known across Germany for his many projects, affiliations, and achievements over the past 20 years. While in Frankfurt, the infamous Playhouse crew recruited him to work at their record store (Delirium) and their club night (WildPitchClub), and he eventually moved on to play at virtually every club in town. From 2002 to 2007, he ran the Freundinnen label, releasing music by Isolee, Move D, Lopazz and many others. Perhaps most importanly, from 2004 to present, he has been residing in Berlin as a resident DJ at Panorama Bar (as well as being the man behind the curtain for many of the club's bookings). As a DJ, nd is known for really spreading out over many genres and pushing the audience as far as he can once he has them in his grasp. We would like to thank The Bunker and Beyond Booking for hosting his North American debut appearance.

Guest DJ: Eric Wrenn started DJing in his bedroom as a teenager in the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan. His record collecting was initially guided by a young record store employee named Seth Troxler at the Melodies and Memories record shop. Thousands of dollars and a move to New York City later, Eric is still collecting classic and obscure house, techno and disco records from the 70s, 80s and 90s from Detroit, Chicago, New York and Italy. In 2008, in order to acquaint more dancers to the pleasingly diverse soundtrack of his bedroom, Eric created "a lifestyle brand" Dolphin Cruise, to throw themed parties. Dolphin Cruise flies a bit below the radar but nevertheless has brought in a string of international DJs for intimate mirror ball encounters in constantly varying locations. Previous guests have included Mike Servito from Ghostly International, Kim Ann Foxman from Hercules and Love Affair, Tyler Pope from LCD Soundsystem, and John Roberts from Dial Records. here is a hot & sweaty mix by Eric Wrenn

Kiss & Tell Resident DJ: Bethany Benzur is our beautiful resident disco encyclopedia and vinyl purist from Georgia. Ever since she emigrated to the Big Apple in 2007, Bethany has been ruling the dancefloor at Kiss & Tell parties with her Southern charm. The DJ nerds are regularly awed by her selections, and she joins us each month to warm you up with her mix of raunchy electro, glamorous dark disco, and soulful street funk. Bethany also does a monthly podcast with Kiss & Tell regulars Dang and Tal: www.sowrongsoright.com

Kiss & Tell Hostess, Photographer, Designer: Seze Devres started Kiss & Tell as an extension of her raunchy knitting circle at Trash Bar on December 7, 2005. At first only a few people showed up to her new cocktail party. However with a lot of help, support, and encouragement from her friends the party has become its own little beast. When she is is not dreaming up crazy themes and guests for Kiss & Tell she is a full time artist and designer. Seze's images and designs have graced dozens of galleries, record covers, posters, flyers, magazines, and web sites. She also co-hosts and photographs the guests of The Bunker, a world renowned weekly techno party in Brooklyn.
